The Oaks Rescue

Rescue, shelter, and placement — stewardship with a fence and a feed bucket.

What the Rescue Does

The rescue side of The Oaks takes in animals in need — the strayed, the surrendered, the ones whose situation ran out — and gives them what every creature deserves: food, shelter, vet care, patience, and time. Animals heal here on a working Ozark farmstead, at the pace healing actually takes, until they're ready for a home of their own.

Placement matters as much as rescue. An animal handed to the wrong home is just a problem postponed, so we work to match each animal with a family that fits — and we stay honest with adopters about what an animal needs and what it doesn't.

Ministry Animals

The animals in this program are ministry animals — held by the nonprofit, cared for out of the ministry's own books, and never treated as inventory. Their feed, vetting, and shelter come from the ministry's funds and the proceeds the family's ventures give to support the work. When you support The Oaks, this is a good part of where it goes: full bowls, dry bedding, and second chances.

Stewardship, Not Sentiment

We love animals, and we also believe love looks like responsibility. God put His creatures in our care, and care is a daily practice — fences mended, water hauled, hooves and health looked after whether it's convenient or not. That's the spirit of this rescue, and it's the spirit our youth program tries to pass to the next generation: faith with its sleeves rolled up.

Adoptions and Intake

The Arkansas rescue is being re-established alongside the rest of the ministry in fall–winter 2026. Animals currently available for adoption, and how to ask about surrendering an animal in a true hardship case, will be posted here as the program opens..

If you're facing a hardship and thinking of surrendering an animal, please also read about our Pet Food Bank — if food is the problem, we'd much rather help you keep your animal.
